Construction of Classrooms at the Islamic Institute in the village of Kul-Kanda, Kiya District, Gambia

This project will be implemented, God willing, in cooperation with the Al-Rahma Foundation

Project Description:

The importance of this project lies in its contribution to the dissemination of Islamic knowledge and culture within and beyond the region. This is due to the strategic location of this school, located in the center of the Kiya District, which attracts students from all over the Gambia and from neighboring countries such as Casamance - Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, and Guinea Conakry.

With the large number of students attending this school, including the poor, needy, and orphans from the region and beyond, we suffer from a shortage of classrooms. This has forced us to add an evening shift to the institute.

Teaching two shifts requires additional expense and effort, otherwise it will lead to a decline in student performance over time. Therefore, we need to build four new classrooms. The population of this village is 9,700.

 - Project cost: $19,000

 - Beneficiaries: 240 students
